2013 was the year I started using gel polish! It was a great experience and I intend to keep using and testing new brands and shades!

2013 foi o ano em que me aventurei no verniz de gel! Já há muito tempo que estava curiosa e queria experimentar e este foi o ano em que o fiz! Gostei bastante da experiência e vou continuar a usar e a testar novas marcas e cores!

Hello ladies! Are you enjoying the 1st days of 2014? Here in Portugal the weather is going from bad to terrible and it doesn't stop raining!
Even tho there is almost no sunlight to swatch, we can always count on out faithfull box and white light!=D
Today I have to indies, from The Polish Bar brand, and while Cobalt Blue belongs to the SummerHolo Jellies Collection, Jingle Stars belongs to the Holliday 2013 collection!
 I wore this combo during a couple of days, this holidays and I loved it! It was a huge success!
Olá!! Espero que estejam a aproveitar os últimos dias das férias de Natal e a gostar dos primeiros dias de 2014! Por enquanto o tempo está bem chuvoso e sabe mesmo bem estar por casa a arranjar as unhas!
Apesar de não haver quase luz nenhuma, posso sempre contar com as luzes brancas e com a lightbox!
Hoje trago-vos uma manicure com Indies, feita durante as férias de Natal. Usei-a durante algums dias e foi um sucesso!

 Cobalt blue

This is a gorgeous shade of vivid blue in a holo jelly finish and an amazing pure shine! I have no top coat applied in any of the following pictures. 
Cobalta blue is with 3 coats in the pictures. The formula applies very well and drying time is quite fast, around 5 mins.

O Cobalt blue é um lindíssimo azul vivido e muito brilhante com um acabamento holo Jelly ! Em nenhuma das fotos abaixo , o verniz tem aplicação de top coat por cima. A aplicação é muito simples, sendo necessárias 3 camadas para o efeito abaixo. Cerca de 5 mins de tempo de secagem.





Jingle Stars

Jingle Stars is a glitter top coat, from the Holiday 2013 collection and is composed of blue, white, black and silver glitters in several shades, sizes and forms. We can find silver holographic stars, white bars and hexagons in several sizes an a lot of blue glitters in several shapes and shades.
2 coats over cobalt blue that spread very easily on the nail.

O Jingle Stars é um glitter top coat, colecção de Natal de 2013. É composto por uma base transparente repleta de  glitters de vários tons de azul, prata, preto e prateado, em vários tamanho. 
Podemos encontrar pequenas estrelinhas prateadas, glitter em barra branco e glitter hexagonal em vários tamanhos e tons de azul, branco, prata e preto.
2 camadas sobre o Cobalt Blue, sendo que a aplicação é muito simples e os glitters distribuem-se homogeneamente e sem qualquer dificuldade.

Ziaja Goat's Milk gift set is composed by a Day Cream, a Night Cream and a Tonic all with this amazing scent.  

A linha de leite de cabra, da Ziaja, é uma das minhas linhas preferidas da marca. Este Natal tive oportunidade de começar a testar mais 3 produtos desta linha. Já os mostrei aqui o creme de mãos da Ziaja.
O Kit de leite de cabra é composto por um creme de dia e um creme de noite e um leite de limpeza /tónico, todos com o delicioso e caracteristico cheiro da marca.

  • The cleaning lotion / tonic comes with 200 ml (7.0 fl oz).

Day Cream:
Soft and fresh, hydrates amazingly! I'm loving using it on my face by morning and on my hands too!
Muito macio e fresco, hydrata a pele pena manhã. Tenho usado após a limpeza matinal e antes de iniciar a maquilhagem. Também é bastante bom para as mãos.





Night Cream:
Pure hydrations and confort in the skin after cleaning it up! Very soft and easily absorbed! Great for hands too.
Um creme super hidratante! Tenho aplicado à noite, dps da limpeza da pele. É muito facilmente absorvido e deixa um toque muito suave. Também é optimo para as mãos.


Cleaning Lotion:

Cleans all the residuos of make up and leaves the skin with a soft touch. Love it (and the scent...!)
Limpa muito bem os últimos residuos de maquilhagem. A pele fica muito macia ao toque e com um cheirinho delicioso.

Dermacelsia has launched a new collection of nail polish with a chrome finish. There are 3 new shades, golden, bronze and silver and I have the silver shade here, to show you.

Hoje trago-vos um novo tom da marca Dermacelsia. A marca lançou recentemente uma colecção nova, com 3 tons de acabamento metalizado em prata, bronze e ouro.
Hoje trago-vos o prata. Espero que gostem.

Dermacelsia 423 Silver

This is a metalic finish polish in a silver shade. The formula has a medium consistency and covers the nail in 2 generous coats for full opacity. The polish dries with some brush marks, some people like them, some hate them. I don't mind.

O Dermacelsia 423 é um verniz prateado de acabamento metalizado. A fórmula tem uma pigmentação média e cobre a unha com 2 camadas generosas ou 3 bastante finas. Cerca de 5 minutos de tempo de secagem.
O verniz seca com alguns riscos/marcas de verniz mas desvanecem um pouco com o top coat. Há quem não goste, há quem goste. Não me incomoda muito as marcas de pincel.

COver the nail in two thin coats and has a gorgeous purple holographic finish. Applies like butter and dries in less than 5mins.

Nails Divine Workshop

Hello ladies!
Last month I had the pleasure of attending a gel polish workshop organized by Nails Divine, a Portuguese brand that retails gel and gel polish products and accessories. Nails Divine also has an academy where future nail technitians are trained.

Bom dia!
Hoje trago-vos um post já um pouco atrasado. No último mês do ano passado fui convidada a assistir a um workshop na academia de unhas da Nails Divine, em Alverca. A Nails Divine tem ainda uma loja, no mesmo local, com todos os acessorios para unhas de gel e verniz gel , bem como acessorios de nailart.

The workshop 

 The workshop was about Nails Divine Gel Polish line - Naturnails Express Color. The workshop lasted a couple of hours and we were told how do Nails Divine products work. 
The nail tech told us all the regular procedures, security measures  and timings for all the products. I will guide you through all the steps when I show you the colors and a how to tutorial. 

O workshop foi realizado com o intuito de explicar e demonstrar como usar o verniz gel da Nails Divine, o Naturnails Express Color. O workshop durou cerca de 1 /2h e foi-nos explicado como os produtos funcionam. A formadora explicou-nos os procedimentos de segurança e higiene bem como todos os tempos de aplicação e secagem para todos os produtos. Vou-vos mostrar os passos todos, quando postar o step by step da aplicação das cores.

Christmas Nailart - Mollon Pro MonoPhase Natalia

Mollon Pro MonoPhase UV Nail Polish  Natalia


 The new line by Mollon Pro keeps amazing me! I thought they would last a bit least because they lack the base and top coats but they last as the regular line.

 Base coat, color and top coat  are on one single solution therefore there is only the need of 2 coats total!  
Natalie is another one of the 12 total shades from this line and is a medium pink coral shade.
  • It took just 2 coats for full opacity. 
  • 1.5min on LED for 1st coat
  •  and 3mins for 2nd coat, on LED.

Os novos vernizes gel Mollon Pro Monophase  são diferentes dos outros vernizes gel porque dispensam o uso de base e top coat. Estes vernizes têm a base e o brilho incorporados na fórmula de cor e por isso necessitam apenas das camadas de cor.

  • O Natalia é mais um dos  12 tons que a marca lançou na linha MonoPhase e tem um tom rosa médio coral.

  • 2 camadas para opacidade total 
  • 1.5mins tempo de secagem LED na primeira camada 
  •  3 mins LED na 2ª camada. 
  • No final não é necessario retirar goma.

Mollon Monophase #01 Gisele & #02 Kate

Hello ladies, how are you? Do you want to know why I am taking such a long time showing you all the monophase colors, by Mollon Pro? Well, I am loving them so much that I have been wearing them as much as I can, meaning that some of the colors stayed on my nails for almost a week or even a whole week! Crazy right?  

Bom dia! Hoje trago-vos a razão pela qua estou a demora tanto a mostrar-vos todas as cores da linha monophase da Mollon Pro. Eu tenho gostado tanto destes vernizes que alguns deles ficaram até uma semana nas unhas! Quando os retirei, intactos, foi mesmo porque a fila tinha que andar!

 Gisele and Kate are the 1st and 2nd shades in this collection. I must confess I was a a bit afraid of Gisele as It might be sheer or two light for my taste. It was a pleasent surprise and I loved the color so much I kept it for a keep! It looked great with my pinky hearts pajamas too! LOL
Anyway, Gisele has a gorgeous baby pink color, its a two coater with a very pigmented formula. Kate is a darker pink, in a shade of old wallpaper pink. Looks amazing with any outfit as is half girly half grown up! :p

Aplication was like butter and removal time is under 5 mins with the foil method. 


O Gisele e o Kate são as primeiras duas cores da linha monophase da Mollon Pro. Tenho que vos confessar que estava um pouco apreensiva com relação à cor #1 - Gisele. Pensei que fosse demasiado clara e não me ficasse bem e também por ser uma cor tão clara fossem necessárias várias camadas. Foi uma agradavel surpresa a aplicação. Gostei tanto do tom que acabei por o usar durante uma semana. Além disso, era uma combinação deliciosa com o meu pijama cor de rosa aos corações LOL =DO #2 -Kateé um tom de rosa mais escuro e velho, com ar de papel de parede. Fica fantástico com qualquer tom de roupa.

Ambos tem uma aplicação muito simples, duas camadas. O tempo de remoção é de loucos, menos de 5mins com o método do papel de alúminio.

Nail Repair - Silk and Gel Polish

Hello Ladies! As you know I have several issues with broken nails and I'm always looking for the best way to fix them without cutting them all short each time I break one. This was my last attempt.
Silk Nail Wraps! Lets see the how to!

Olá!!  Quem costuma ler aqui o cantinho sabe que um dos problemas mais recurrentes por aqui são unha partinhas! Ando sempre à procura da maneira mais eficaz de salvar a unha sem ter que as cortar todas. Esta foi a minha última experiencia. Adesivos de seda. Vamos ver como fiz!



So... ladies.. this happened again! This time I had a backup plan! A silk wrap for my nails. I bought mine at Nails Divine, for 3€ for 90cm. I actually divided it with Ana so, we both got 45cm for 1.5€. Pretty cheap!  You can find similar things on ebay under silk/fiberglass nail wraps. So lets see what I did. 

Bem. voltei a partir uma unha! Desta vez já tinha preparado um kit de emergencia. Um patch autocolante de fibra de seda e verniz gel 2em1 base e top coat. A fibra de seda que usei custou 3€ po 90cm e dividi-a com a Ana. Foi comprada na Nails Divine.
Podem encontrar coisas semelhantes no ebay.
Vamos ver  o que fiz aqui.

O aspecto do adesivo tecido de seda. 



You need to peel off the extra layer. I cut enough to cover the entire nail. You can just patch the damaged are but I think that is more inclined to break as it does not have full support.
Basta retirar a camada externa e ficam com o tecido autocolante. Eu cortei um pedaço com tamanho suficiente para cobrir toda a unha. Se quiserem podem remendar apenas a área danificada mas sinceramente, acho que a unha fica com menos suporte e a tendencia a partir tudo é maior.



Apply the wrap on the nail and cut and file the excess!
Agora é só aplicar o tecido autocolante na unha. Depois de bem colado cortem o excesso maior e acertem as pontas com uma lima.



Apply gel polish over the wrap and cure! Curing time depends on the gel you are using.
Aplicar verniz gel transparente ou base/top e curar. O tempo que cura depende da marca que estão a usar.



Here is the final outcome! The nail is soft and it wont break. I would advise you to use a strong gel polish, one of those that are a pain to remove, because that will be better for you to apply and remove regular polish without damaging the  gel base. 
Eis o resultado final! A unha está nivelada, com um aspecto brilhante e muito reforçada. Aconselho-vos a usar um gel que saibam que é chato de tirar, pois vai resistir melhor. Se for um verniz gel resistente vai aguentar enquanto trocarem o verniz normal.

H&M Nude Palette

 Last week I went to H&M to buy some make up sponges for gradients and I saw this nude palette. I thought I might give it a try.

A semana passada fui à H&M comprar umas esponjinhas de maquilhagem para fazer gradientes nas unhas e vi esta paletta de nudes. Resolvi experimentar. Vamos ver?




Swatches:

 The colors are very pretty and discrete but a bit sheer. I also noticed that them are a bit to granular and fall over the face when applied. A 5/10 whitout a doubt.
For 1€ per shade you can't expect much more! LOL

As cores são muito bonitas e discretas mas são muito pouco pigmentadas. Também se desfazem um pouco a aplicar e acabam por cair na cara enquanto são esfumadas. Sem dúvida um 5/10. Também não se poderia esperar muito mais de uma palete de 5€, com sombras a 1€/cor.

Mollon Pro MonoPhase UV Nail Polish  Raquel


 The new line by Mollon Pro keeps amazing me! I thought they would last a bit least because they lack the base and top coats but they last as the regular line.

 Base coat, color and top coat  are on one single solution therefore there is only the need of 2 coats total!   

    • Raquel is another one of the 12 total shades from this line and is a dark shade of brown.
  • It took just 2 coats for full opacity. 
  • 1.5min on LED for 1st coat
  •  and 3mins for 2nd coat, on LED.

Os novos vernizes gel Mollon Pro Monophase  são diferentes dos outros vernizes gel porque dispensam o uso de base e top coat. Estes vernizes têm a base e o brilho incorporados na fórmula de cor e por isso necessitam apenas das camadas de cor.

    • O Raquel é mais um dos  12 tons que a marca lançou na linha MonoPhase e tem um tom castanho escuro lindissimo.
  • 2 camadas para opacidade total 
  • 1.5mins tempo de secagem LED na primeira camada 
  •  3 mins LED na 2ª camada. 
  • No final não é necessario retirar goma.
